Just Tutes

Just Tutes is a fantastic crafty blog about how to make something new out of something old - that is how to make clothes by recycling old bits of fabric and used clothes to create a whole new outfit. The blog also features recipes and crafts to make with children.

I suggest you read the first post where Charity Beasley explains what her blog is all about in her friendly Welcome! post.

On the front page of her delightful blog, she admits that "I am not an expert! In fact, I've been sewing barely two years..." which is incredible when you read through her blog and see all the great ideas and projects/patterns she is sharing.

Craft Leftovers

Craft Leftovers is a charming craft blog by Kristin Roach and the clever blog name and purpose is explained thus:

The Craft Leftovers project was my answer to the question, “What does one do with all the leftover bits after a project is finished?” I found that every time I made something, I was left with a half of a skein of this, a half of a yard of that. Although I am driven to create, I am not driven to create more waste. I am setting out to write patterns specifically for those leftovers and to encourage everyone I meet to use up their unwanted bits.

Kristin Roach does indeed share (free) patterns to use up 'leftovers' from crafts. She also interviews artists, crafters, and small business owners.

For example, there is a tutorial for a Quick & Easy Apron and a Super Easy Reversible Farmer's Market Bag plus lots more sewing projects.
