Emma the TV Vet is a very interesting and informative website by Emma Milne, the TV vet. You may remember her when she was featured on the BBC show, 'Vets In Practice’.

You can ask Emma the vet questions or search the archive for answers to previous questions on her site.

There's also a Pet Talk section with a lot of articles on different topics by Emma.

DogsBlog: dogs for adoption in the UK

If you are considering adopting a dog (in the UK) you will quickly discover there are many rescue centres and it's difficult to know where to start looking. That's why a new blog called DogsBlog is such a great idea:

"DogsBlog.com is a new and exciting resource providing a simple, easy to use, centralised location for people interested in adopting a rescue dog."

The blog is easy to use. You can find a dog by the rehoming centre where they are located or by their age, sex or breed type. The blog doesn't use nearest location as a criteria because "It is our firm belief that the ‘right’ dog is not neccesarily the nearest dog."

Vet Help Direct - designed and run by qualified vets - offers interactive qualified vet advice when you aren't sure if you need to seek veterinary attention for your pet (in the UK). The site also offers useful advice about how to examine your pet, worming & flea treatment, insurance, and a vet directory.

PetEducation.com is a fantastic resource for pet owners or anyone wanting to learn more about pet care. The comprehensive site offers expert advice and information about all types of pets.

The (American) site is owned & operated by two practicing veterinarians - Dr. Race Foster and Dr. Marty Smith - who "established and fund the largest and most comprehensive pet information web site on the Internet. Their PetEducation.com web site contains more than 2,800 in-depth articles written by the Drs. Foster & Smith veterinary staff."

Birding, blogging, and bunnies!

There are so many good blogs on the web that it's difficult to pick and choose the best ones but it helps if they are informative, well-written, and updated regularly. Some of the very best ones are about unusual jobs or hobbies. And it always helps if a blog is also entertaining and fun to read.
