Artyfactory is a superb site for anyone interested in art, particularly for those interested in learning how to draw.

The site offers a useful feature using the mouse and moving it over an image to illustrate specific tips about drawing. For example, when learning about Drawing the Eye , you can move the mouse over the first image to see how the upper eyelid covers the top of the iris.

In addition to the various drawing tutorials, there is an Art Appreciation feature, a Color Theory section and a Portrait Painting in Acrylics section.

Do you like to sew? Or perhaps you wish you had and you don't know where to start? I have just the site for you, it's called, StartSewing and it provides all the pertinent information (over 70 articles) and helpful advice that you need. There is a guide to buying a sewing machine, sewing terminology, tips regarding selecting the right fabric and pattern preparation, a guide to following patterns, and a how-to section for making various home furnishings. The site also provides two sections explaining how to make fancy dress (costumes) for kids and adults.

If you enjoy drawing and want a place on the web to share your drawings - or learn to draw - RateMyDrawings is an online drawing community that will help you do that and more.

Registration is free and once you've joined as a member, you can create drawings, rate drawings, and comment on drawings created by other members. There is also an online multi-user chat room that allows members to draw and chat at the same time plus a forum and drawing tutorials.

RateMyDrawings really is a fantastic site! I think it's particularly nice that you can browse drawings whether you are registered or not.

If you spend a lot of time surfing the web and turning to search engines to help you find specific information, there is a useful site called Search Engine Showdown, the Users' Guide to Web Searching, which compares and evaluates Internet search engines.

The site is written by Greg R.Notess and he also includes a section explaining search strategies and provides tutorials for Basic Internet Searching and Advanced Internet Searching. There is a Search Engine Showdown Blog too.
